Paul M.F. Cheng, Founding
Partner
Paul Cheng is founding
member of APSA Consultants. Formerly Chairman
of Inchcape Pacific Ltd., and N M Rothschild &
Sons (Hong Kong) Ltd., Mr. Cheng currently serves
as an independent director on several boards
including
such companies as Wharf Holdings, Sino Land,
Esprit Holdings, and Chevalier International
Holdings
in Hong Kong, and Spirent plc in the U.K.
A former Hong Kong legislator,
Mr. Cheng served as Chairman of the American Chamber
of Commerce in Hong Kong, and was Chairman of
the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He
was a member of the Preparatory Committee appointed
by Beijing to oversee Hong Kong’s transfer
of sovereignty in 1997. Accordingly, he is well
connected with officials at China ministries,
and is a member of the All China Federation of
Industry and Commerce. Mr. Cheng is an advisor
to Peking University’s China National Committee
and the China Center for Economic Research, and
he’s an adjunct professor at the Hong Kong
University of Science and Technology business
school. He is also a steward of the Hong Kong
Jockey Club.
Born in China, and raised in
Hong Kong, Mr. Cheng received his higher education
in the U.S. He has a BA degree from Lake Forrest
College, Illinois, and an MBA degree from the
Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University
of Pennsylvania.
